On August 10, Fundación Terra Termarum will once again take part in the 9th San Lorenzo Pilgrimage Festival, held at the Cereixa Hillfort (A Pobra do Brollón, Galicia). We are delighted to continue collaborating in this annual event, which brings together archaeological research, cultural heritage, and the local community.
The archaeological excavation campaign, now celebrating its tenth edition, has embraced an open-door philosophy since its beginnings, allowing local residents and visitors to discover archaeological fieldwork firsthand and learn about the latest discoveries at a site that preserves significant remains from both the Iron Age and the Medieval period.
As has become a tradition during the San Lorenzo Pilgrimage Festival, at 5:00 p.m. we will lead our Castreña Pottery Workshop, an activity that has become an established part of the festival programme. Through experimental archaeology, participants will discover the research and recovery process behind Castreña pottery—from the study of archaeological finds to the faithful reproduction of vessel forms, hand-building techniques, and firing methods used more than two thousand years ago.
This is another opportunity to share knowledge, promote our archaeological heritage, and continue making archaeology a living, hands-on experience for everyone.
