21/08/26 | Events

This Sunday, 23 August, the Terra Termarum Foundation, through its Castrolandín Experimental Castrexa Pottery Workshop, will take part in Laeros, the Rock Art Festival, held in Campo Lameiro.

Throughout the day, our workshop will introduce visitors to the experimental recreation of prehistoric pottery, presenting a selection of pieces based on archaeological evidence and known pottery forms from this period.

The event will include a display of pottery reproductions representing different typologies, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the variety of shapes, finishes and characteristics of prehistoric pottery, together with an explanation of the models represented and the process followed to recreate them.

Alongside the exhibition, we will also carry out live pottery-making demonstrations, showing different stages of the production process and introducing visitors to the techniques and knowledge used by prehistoric communities.

The Foundation’s participation in Laeros is part of our commitment to the research, recovery and dissemination of archaeological heritage, using experimental archaeology as a tool to understand and communicate the technological processes of the past.

Throughout the day, Laeros will bring together a range of activities focused on heritage education, historical reenactment, experimental archaeology and prehistoric culture, turning Campo Lameiro into a meeting point for discovering the past from different perspectives.

We look forward to seeing you this Sunday, 23 August, at Laeros!
